PARESH MAITY

The definitive lines in Paresh Maity's works, infused with an unabashed celebration of colour, bear a staunchly individualistic pattern; while a subtle narrative often weaves a lateral line, making his figures transport the static and assume a poetic tableau.

Born 1965. He grew up in West Bengal and did his BFA from Kolkata followed by his masters from Delhi College of Art. He has held 30 Solo shows and an equal number of Group exhibitions. He has received a number of Awards including a Gold Medal from USSR, Governor's Gold Medal from the Academy of Fine Arts Kolkata, Pandit Ravi Shankar Award from College of Art Delhi and the Royal Water Colour society Award from London.
