JAYSHREE CHAKRAVORTYJayshree Chakravarty belongs to the genre of artists who can no longer separate the strands of art and life. Hers is a complex, multi-layered style that conceals as much as it reveals - the paintings invite one to traverse a visual conundrum, where the suggestions of distinct physical forms lie below the palimpsest of the paint, swathed in a swirl of brush strokes. Educated in Santiniketan and then MS University Baroda, after which she went to France and lived and worked there for a long time until she settled back in Kolkata.
